What is the Employee Assistance Program / Mental Health Coaching?

Mental health coaching aims to help employees and managers improve their mental health by developing strategies to manage stress and achieve personal goals.

Employees of the Fürstenberg Institut’s corporate clients can receive individual mental health coaching in 1 to 1 sessions. Whether in person or at one of the Institut’s locations, online or by telephone.

In a confidential setting, qualified systemically trained coaches help your employees and managers to find clarity about their concerns and their own solutions to their challenges. By asking specific questions and providing input, the coaches support your employees in identifying strengths, resources and potential. The aim of coaching is to empower your employees and managers so that they can regain their capacity for action and take preventive care of their mental health.

Our mental health coaching provides empowerment and relief for individual professional, private or health issues. However, our Employee Assistance Program has its limits and is not a substitute for therapy. If a current problem has underlying causes or there may be an illness requiring treatment, such as depression, our coaches will help to find suitable psychotherapists.

Our Employee Assistance Program can only be successful if it is widely accepted within the company and employees see us as a reliable and trustworthy point of contact. It is therefore important to us to provide our clients with continuous support with internal communication during the introduction of the Employee Assistance Program and beyond. Each corporate client has a designated contact person at the Fürstenberg Institut for this purpose and we provide a detailed roll-out with various supporting materials, sample texts, photos, explanatory films, etc.

To measure success, there are regular reporting dates at which we compare service usage levels, coaching issues and other parameters over a comparative period and with the industry benchmark.

Booking an appointment is very easy with us: in our myFürstenberg mental health platform, your employees can access our booking system with just a few clicks and book the right coach for their needs. Appointments can also be made by e-mail and telephone.

3. Anonymous coaching – in person, online, by phone

Our qualified and certified mental health coaches provide coaching in person at our Institut’s locations as well as online and over the phone, as required. All data is of course anonymised and strictly protected in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

There are some issues that can't wait. If your employees want to start their coaching right away, they can connect directly to our Immediate Support service and will be put in touch with one of our coaches straight away. This service provides support on all the issues we offer, such as help in crises, mental stress, challenges at work or issues that affect managers. Our Immediate Support service is available in German and English.
Therapy referral

Our mental health coaching empowers your employees and provides relief. However, if it becomes clear that your employees need therapy, we will guide them on their way to professional, therapeutic help. The Institut’s in-house therapy referral service is available to all clients. Thanks to our good network and our cooperation with therapy clinics, we can guarantee shorter waiting times for admission.
Crisis management after stressful events

Extraordinarily stressful events (such as accidents and attacks in the company or even deaths) often trigger strong reactions and feelings among employees. These crisis situations can have a serious and long-lasting impact on team members and on teamwork. We provide support in these situations with empathetic and professional crisis management. They also have exclusive access to an extensive self-help media library containing specialist information, training videos with expert tips, meditation exercises and other media such as our new GROW podcast. myFürstenberg is inclusive, accessible and available in both German and English.

Company addiction counselling
The Fürstenberg Institut is a recognised addiction counselling centre. Our certified addiction counsellors are authorised to initiate therapeutic rehabilitation for addiction. Your employees can seek counselling for addiction problems with alcohol, nicotine, drugs or addictive behaviours (e.g. gambling or computer games). We also support family members as well as managers and colleagues by answering their questions on the subject. Thanks to our many years of experience, we can act quickly if necessary and provide support with the application process for outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation for addiction disorders.

Finding a place in a daycare centre, a care facility or childcare for the afternoon – many people know how time-consuming and frustrating this search can be. We offer employees support and, if required, we can arrange caregivers and facilities. When it comes to placement, it goes without saying that we only place childminders or caregivers who have been vetted by the Fürstenberg Institut. We attach great importance to excellent references, personal integrity and our reliance on personal impressions.
Legal advice
When it comes to legal matters or disputes, most people have major concerns or uncertainties that can also burden them in their day-to-day work. Our legal advice from trained and experienced legal professionals offers expert initial guidance on disputes and legal cases. This includes, for example, an initial consultation on legal issues (excluding employment law), checking documents or contracts, and explaining possible courses of action.

Financial problems and worries about debt are common causes of mental stress among employees. Even an initial conversation with our trained debt and insolvency advisors can provide relief. The Fürstenberg Institut is a recognised debt counselling centre. Among other things, we offer household and budgeting advice and provide advice on securing a livelihood and stabilising personal finances. We support managers and HR departments in dealing with employees in debt or in the event of attachment of wages.

Our specialist medical staff advise employees at short notice on the assessment of individual conditions and symptoms such as migraines and headaches, back pain, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, chronic illnesses, treatment options and prevention, medication and their interactions, stabilisation of the immune system and seasonal illnesses (e.g. flu). It goes without saying that patient confidentiality is maintained during medical consultations.

Discuss your request
In order to fulfil your request in the best possible way, a meeting will be held with the responsible regional manager shortly after your inquiry. This will define exactly what you want and what we can do to support you.
Individual offer
Following the appointment, you will receive an individual offer for your company by e-mail, tailored precisely to your concerns and needs.
Contract
If you confirm the offer, you will receive your contract within a very short time.
Access data and starter package
You can get started the very next day! Immediately after signing the contract, you will receive the access data for your company and the starter pack with all the important information. We will work with you to coordinate a personal presentation of the package for employees and managers to get everyone on board, information webinars and all the materials you can use in your company to promote mental health coaching. We are also happy to support you individually with internal communication.
